Knights Key
Knights Key is a 2014, bay, Thoroughbred, gelding. He came from a track in Louisiana, but was originally a homebred here in Kentucky. Knight is also a “War Horse,” amassing over $250,000. He was fully nominated for the Breeders Cup.
Unfortunately, Knight had a small fracture and could no longer race and his owner couldn’t invest anymore time and money in to him, so he was sent to us for full retirement. By the time he got to us in Kentucky, his condition had worsened. We brought vets out to X-ray everything and found it had been getting substantially worse. Major arthritis had also set in. He has a condition that would not benefit from operating either. With vet care and medicine, he is pasture comfortable and will continue to quietly live out his life till he tells us it is time.
Knight requires daily Equioxx tablets for comfort from his injury, daily. He also receives a vitamin E supplement daily for the damage, called Elevate. He receives the routine following:
